Your Scholarship Search Checklist

• Fill out and send in your FAFSA and CSS Profile forms
• Apply to several schools other than your dream school
• In your local area, ask each of the following about scholarships or grants that may be available:
• Your school counselor
• Your local librarian
• The clergy at your house of worship
• Your parents / guardians (if their employer or professional organization offers them)
• Several local community groups
• Search for scholarships on the websites of your congressperson, senator and/or state legislator
• Visit guidestar.org
• Search the top scholarship sites
• Go to at least one site that shows you how to avoid scholarship scams
