Your state could lower your cost of college

Every state in the U.S. knows the value of having young people with a college education in its population. That’s why they offer grants to help students like you pay for college.  Here are the different ways they may offer these grants.

Types of state grants

  • Some states give grants if you go to a college in the state (even if it’s a private college).
  • Some states give grants if you agree to work in the state after you graduate.
  • And some states give special scholarships if you are training for a career in which that state needs skilled people.

Use your state’s higher education website

To learn about state grants you may qualify for, just do a search for your state’s higher education website. Here are some examples:
