Dear Colleague,
More than most people, you know the challenges of helping high school students apply to college. You guide them through the application process, help them make appropriate choices and do all you can to ensure they’ve taken all the necessary steps in the process. But helping them figure out how to pay for college – and perhaps more important, avoid overwhelming student debt – involves a level of time, energy and specialized financial knowledge that many counselors and advisors simply don’t have available. That’s why our nonprofit organization, College Money Matters, created www.collegemoneymatters.org. Designed for, and tested by, today’s high school juniors and seniors, this engaging and informative website features videos, articles, and even games that help students – and their parents – find out what they need to know on their own.Unlike many other sites, Collegemoneymatters.org has no advertisements; and does not harvest data for mailing lists. And while the emphasis is on paying for college, our site also covers other important topics that matter greatly to college-bound students and their families. Just click on any of the links below to see how quickly and clearly they’re communicated:
Collegemoneymatters.org has already been put into use by a number of school districts and counseling nonprofits. With your help in spreading awareness of this site through your resource lists, student and parent communications, social networks, and partners, we can work together to help this generation of high school students avoid a future of debilitating college debt.
Thank you very much Nancy Goodman
